This year's theme:"Dare To Soar!"
"Being comfortable is boring - so get out of your comfort zone!" Those wise words I adopted in 1974 when I joined Toastmasters in Seattle, Washington. Our club theme this year reflects that challenge to get out of our comfort zones, to have the courage to do what we have dreamed whether at our club, at work or in our community.
L. Ron Hubbard wrote in the Philadelphia Course lectures, "Be willing to cause something; going ahead to achieve the effect one has postulated, against any and all odds."
Visit our club and "Dare to Soar!"

VP Production?
I've never seen that before...
An interesting thing occurs when you have a large Toastmasters club. The post of Vice-President Education becomes unoccupiable, in that, the work involved is way out of proportion to other club officers, even the President!
This is because "scheduling", independent of educational requirements, can become a full-time job. For this reason, in Renaissance Speakers we have split the VP Education post into two positions creating a new post of VP Production whose entire job is just scheduling speakers and producing a 6-week calendar. This enables the VP Education to focus on helping members achieve their educational goals by completing Toastmaster manual projects.
This is one of the secrets of our club's success. It not only allows the club to easily grow even larger, but makes the job of recruiting a VP Education relatively easy.
