2007-09-23: Attitude    

Our Toastmaster this morning, Paulien Lombard, really adjusted our attitude. Well, she didn't change it that much, but what she did do with her theme is re-emphasize how important the proper attitude is in accomplishing our goals. Grammarian Bruce Delfeld provided "mien" as the word-of-the-day which nicely fit the theme.

Ted Crissell started our prepared speeches with the advanced Salespresentation project entitled: "What can you not do...without?" Barbara Lewis then followed with another advanced project from Persuasive Speaking, Addressing the Opposition. Her speech "Analytics" talked about the advantages of using website analysis tools. Next, Cliff Noble waxed philosophic in a speech "Home Insurance 9-1-1". Debbie Ellish and Jeff Harman teamed up (both are working on projects from the Advanced Manual Communicating on Television so Debbie did When You're the Host and interviewed guest Jeff doing The Talk Show. Rounding out the program, Mike Baron presented facts and opinion in his speech: "Global Warming - Fact or Fiction?"

After some excellent coaching and awards we ajourned to lunch with another excellent meeting completed. Well done Paulien!
